Britain’s Got Satire is a new topical comedy show for local community radio.
We filmed the pilot 30-minute radio recording in front of a live audience at one of London's top comedy venues performed by a team of highly experienced professional comedians.
The script was derived from entries to a new writers competition promoted by community radio stations across Britain and a number of the UK's leading comedy writing forums. This material was fused with ideas and humour generated by our award performance team - Jay Sodagar, Dave Chawner, Paul Pennington, and Aatif Nawaz.
Paul has been a media professional for over thirty five years – as a comedy actor, writer, broadcaster and journalist. He started his career in the early 1980’s as a performer in the West End of London comedies by Oscar winning writer Colin Welland (Roll On Four O’Clock) and Society of West End Theatre Award winner Julian Mitchell (Another Country). In 1992 he moved into broadcast production and journalism. For the past 21 years he has written and presented the weekly radio series ‘Word On Health’.
